Team and Role Profile:

The Fixed Income Cash Trade Support team is part of the firms Trading Operations division and provides direct support to a number of the firms EMEA trading desks: Investment Grade; High Yield & Distressed; European Commercial Paper; Emerging Markets, Structured Products, EU Govt Bonds and Agency products. 
In addition the team support Listed futures, options and other products as required for these desks, in multiple trader risk systems.

 

The Primary functions of the team include:

  • Ensuring the timely and accurate affirmation of all trades within 15 minutes, contacting internal and external stakeholders/brokers where necessary
  • Monitoring trader's books in a live environment, to ensure positions and risk are correctly captured at the point of execution
  • Liaising with the BU on an ad-hoc basis to identify and resolve issues, provide trade information, and act as liaison point with various other teams within the Firm.
  • Maintaining responsibility for risk management within the team through driving break investigation, resolution and timely escalation.
  • Owning and resolving any settlement fails and queries.
  • Supporting the traders with market/product life cycle events such as corporate actions and maturing positions. 
  • Maintaining, developing and improving current processes & procedures. Supporting the desk through NPA's, system enhancements and regulatory or compliance queries.
  • Delivering Primary Dealer and regulatory reporting

 

Key Skills Required:

Control

  • Support a strong control & risk management environment.
  • Ensure all risks, issues and control gaps are escalated appropriately as per daily procedures ensuring accountability is maintained until resolution.
  • Help drive efficiencies and change to improve the teams control framework

 

Commercial

  • Ensure best practice is implemented as part of the Team’s daily processing requirement.
  • Help implement the department strategy working alongside the local and global teams and Senior Management.
  • Support the BU with new product/trade requests

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • A general knowledge of Fixed Income products and how they are traded is preferable but not essential
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written are essential, as the successful candidate will be dealing with senior management and our partners across the various divisions of the firm
  • Task orientated, inquisitive in nature, the successful candidate will be required to ensure production items and projects are delivered on time.
  • Ability to challenge the processes and issues owned by the team.
  • Ability to generate innovative ideas and proactively drive forward solutions
  • The ability to effectively prioritise a high volume of work in a real-time environment
  • Strong risk awareness and the ability to escalate issues appropriately 
  • Good level of numeracy to aid in the quick identification and resolution of cash flow discrepancies 
  • Able to identify and support the resolution of ambiguous problems through initiative and tenacity
  • Good IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel)
