Background on the Team

 

The update of settlement instructions and creation / maintenance of client accounts are processed by a third party vendor in Chennai. The Asia Institutional Reference Data (IRD) Control and Supervisory group are therefore responsible for the business critical function of authorising settlement instruction updates made by the IRD teams in Vendor Locations. The Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI) are authorised for trades on behalf of various business units across the globe (Chennai, Glasgow, London, Europe, Americas and Asia Pacific).  In addition, the team are responsible for quality checking client accounts created and maintained by IRD Chennai.

 

The primary focus is to provide support to Fixed Income Derivatives, Fixed Income Settlements, Equity / Fixed Income Cash Client Processing (CCP), Stock Lending, International Prime Brokerage, Prime Brokerage, Cash Management, Collateral, Commodities, Foreign Exchange (FX) and Desk Control in accordance with Key Risk Indicators and Key Performance Indicators as set within Service Level Agreements.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Quality checking the creation and maintenance of client accounts
  • Risk management through the daily review of priority clients, adhering to benchmarks and Service Level Agreements. 
  • Escalate potential issues to the team manager.
  • Recommend opportunities to increase efficiency / productivity through analyzing resource and system usage, and identifying processing weaknesses.
  • Support the team manager in rolling out new initiatives and developments within the team.

 

 

Skills required

 

 

  • Education: Industry qualifications i.e. Securities Institute or Bachelors Degree & Tech Savvy

 

Technical and Professional Knowledge:

 

  • Knowledge of global markets / market regulations is beneficial, although not a necessity
  • Securities Institute (or equivalent) qualifications
  • An appreciation of ‘risk’
