Instructional Design & Delivery Specialist

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Instructional Design & Delivery Specialist to join our Learning & Development team. This onsite role combines expert instructional design with dynamic live facilitation. You’ll be responsible for creating accessible, modern learning content across multiple formats and delivering professional training experiences to both internal and external audiences.
This is a high-visibility role that requires both creative execution and operational excellence. You’ll collaborate closely with subject matter experts, use the latest tools—including AI—to build polished, effective content, and facilitate training sessions that build capability and confidence in learners. As our team grows, this position will help set the standard for quality, efficiency, and accessibility in everything we produce.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Design & Development
- Lead the end-to-end development of training content based on audience needs, performance goals, and learning objectives.
- Design accessible and engaging learning experiences using modern tools and formats (eLearning, instructor-led, simulations, job aids, videos, etc.).
- Write high-quality scripts and storyboards for digital and live training, integrating voiceover, multimedia, and interactive elements.
- Apply learning theory, adult learning principles, and universal design frameworks to ensure training is effective and accessible.
- Use AI tools and creative platforms to enhance design speed and quality (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Synthesia, Canva, ChatGPT, Camtasia, etc).
- Develop instructor and participant materials including guides, assessments, rubrics, and supplemental resources.
- Ensure all content complies with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and maintains consistent visual and instructional quality.
- Maintain clean, organized course files and version control across all projects.
Training Delivery & Facilitation
- Deliver high-quality, instructor-led training sessions onsite and virtually as needed.
- Adapt facilitation techniques to different learning styles, environments, and organizational contexts.
- Act as a representative of the Learning & Development team during training sessions and related engagements.
Project Management & Collaboration
- Manage multiple projects concurrently with attention to deadlines, scope, and deliverable quality.
- Provide clear project updates, identify risks early, and work independently to resolve blockers.
- Collaborate with internal SMEs, technical staff, and cross-functional partners to gather content and ensure accuracy.
- Follow structured review processes and maintain alignment with the Senior Director and other stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in instructional design and adult learning theory.
- Strong knowledge of accessibility standards and universal design principles.
- Experience designing and delivering live training in both in-person and virtual settings.
- High proficiency in course authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and content management systems.
- Comfort with AI tools and digital platforms for rapid content creation and design polish.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
- Highly organized and capable of managing timelines, dependencies, and shifting priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a high level of professional accountability.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or a related field.
- Certification in instructional design, adult education, learning experience design, or facilitation (preferred).
- Accessibility credential or certificate (highly preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years in a learning design role with experience delivering live training, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience creating accessible, modern, and effective training content.
