The professionals in the Legal and Compliance Division “LCD” provide a wide range of services to our business units. LCD is comprised of the Legal, Regulatory Relations, and Non-Financial Risk departments which preserve the firm’s invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that are designed to meet regulatory requirements around the world. We also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm’s businesses. LCD Center of Excellence – Mumbai (LCD CoE) is a part of client’s Global In-house Center, which provides global support to LCD and is an integral part of Firm and LCD strategy.
LCD Operations is a centralized support function for Legal & Compliance division. This team supports risk teams of both ISG and WM for various Entitlement reviews across all functions within LCD. One of the core responsibilities of the team in Mumbai is to monitor transfer and periodic reviews and ensure they are completed on time for US, EMEA and APAC employees. Apart from Entitlements, team is also supporting administrative and operational activities for Outside Counsel Management, support their Information Security Assessment and Vendor On-boarding for law firms who provide us legal service and ensure their payments are processed in collaboration with Accounts Payable team, Financial Analysis and Reporting as well as Vendor Management Office functions.
Primary Responsibilities (Day Job)
- Assist in the design of monthly management reports for LCD senior management: Expense, Headcount, Management Decks, other related metric reports, research, and report on the accuracy of targeted expense lines provided to internal stakeholders.
- Assist with month-end close accruals and expense re-classes to ensure accurate reporting of expenses in accordance with accounting principles and reaching out to top law firms for unbilled legal expense review and analyzing month-end WIP accruals before sending them to the Business Unit controllers.
- Assist in preparing law firm relationship decks for senior management meetings with key law firms and preparing law firm spend report which contains the litigation / regulatory spend by law & non-law firms.
- Collaborate with controllers as well as Human Resources on financial allocation and cost center related requests.
- Assist in updating and preparing reports on yearly budgets and forecast plans.
- Assist in process mapping, preparing ad-hoc reports and decks for senior management, responding to ad-hoc requests and queries as and when required.
Requirements
Experience
- Bachelor's Degree, MBA or MMS Degree will be an added advantage.
- 3+ years of experience in multiple functions (preferably financial services related processes).
Knowledge
- Advanced EXCEL, data analytics skills, financial reporting and analysis experience is a MUST.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Word).
- Should be comfortable working with technology and display proficiency on technical systems and programs.

Coverage
- Monday to Friday from 30AM to 8.30PM India time with flexibility on standard working hours for time sensitive matters (including India Public Holidays).
- Periodic evening calls with EMEA and US internal clients and vendors
