ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Senior Software Engineer – BODS, you will be responsible for designing, developing and optimizing data integration and ETL solutions using SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS). You will play a key role in enabling enterprise data movement, transformation, and quality across complex landscapes. This role demands strong hands-on expertise in BODS, deep understanding of data architecture, and the ability to lead technical delivery in a fast-paced, global environment. You will also contribute to establishing best practices and foundational capabilities for a newly formed global technology center

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Certifications

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field

·         SAP Certified Application Associate – Data Services is preferred

·         Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP – Associate level or higher)

Required Experience

·         4–7 years of experience in data engineering or ETL development, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in SAP BODS

·         Proven experience in designing and implementing data integration solutions across SAP and non-SAP systems

·         Exposure to large-scale enterprise data environments and agile delivery models

Essential skills

·         Strong hands-on experience with SAP BODS, including data flows, workflows, transforms, and job scheduling

·         Proficiency in ETL design and optimization, handling large volumes of structured and semi-structured data

·         Experience with data migration, cleansing, and transformation across Enterprise Data Warehouse systems

·         Solid understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning

·         Knowledge of data quality management, error handling, and exception reporting

Desired skills

·         Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, GCP BigQuery)

·         Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SAP BO

·         Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and compliance standards

·         Working experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies

·         Exposure to leveraging AI OPS for predictive analytics and operational efficiency

·         Experienced in deploying and maintaining ML models in production environments

·         Familiarity with design and implementation of scalable API solutions

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivery and Execution

·         Interacts with architects to define system requirements and translate requirements into technical specifications

·         Design and develop robust, scalable, and efficient ETL solutions using SAP BODS to support enterprise data needs

·         Lead the end-to-end implementation of data integration workflows, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements

·         Ensure data accuracy, performance optimization, and security compliance across all ETL processes

·         Troubleshoot and resolve complex data integration issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations

Support and Enablement

·         Provides engineering support across the enterprise, including providing support and resolution on issues and ensuring service level agreements are met and align with functional standards

·         Contribute to the establishment of data integration frameworks, reusable assets, and documentation for the technology center

·         Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams to streamline deployment pipelines and monitoring

·         Support platform governance, versioning, and lifecycle management of ETL jobs and data assets
