Job Description
Duties:
Expected to perform manual/automation testing and debug on hosts identified below (list may be updated by SDIN from time to time):
Personal computers in the form of laptops, desktops, AIO, which will have USB ports working in USB2.0, USB3.X, Thunderbolt, USB 4.0 modes.
Troubleshoot the desktop system issues and configuration
Appropriate Operating Systems depending on type of hosts (Windows, MacOS, Linux, Chrome, Android, iOS, etc).
Automation Tool validation, if any.
2.The product Device Under Testing “(DUT”) will comprise of the following products:
eMMC/UFS storage devices
3.The engineer will have to perform repeat runs on the DUTs for the reasons including but not limited to the following:
FW revisions change during NPI
Different memory/FW revisions when in sustenance
For OS upgrades whenever applicable within the product warranty
For specific hosts identified by Marketing teams even when products are in sustenance
4.The engineer will have to update the issues identified during testing in client JIRA/Partner JIRA workspace. The personnel should ensure the test failures are repeatable in nature before raising issues.
Regular co-ordination is required between the engineer and the project lead and hence it is imperative that the candidates are sincere, disciplined and are good at communication skills for rolling up the updates.
Expected to assist SDIN project leads is providing appropriate records of testing outcomes in keeping with the templates provided by the project leads.
- The target for completing test cycles will be defined by the project leads in discussion with the engineer and it is expected that the execution is completed within the committed timelines.
- Lab operations & Inventory management:
The personnels are expected to track all the inventory in SDIN’s IMS (Inventory Management System). Adequate asset transfer processes need to be followed if the item in the inventory is used by multiple members. Frequent audits will be performed by Internal and External agencies and IMS systems should be kept up to date
The Personnels are expected to unbox the new items received from procurement, complete host setup/assemble & update the OS.
The Personnels should work with SDIN Lab operations and Logistics team to ensure items are traceable and/or disposed appropriately.
The Personnels must adhere to the gate pass procedure for both inter-site and intra-site material movements, ensuring proper receipt of items and timely closure of the gate pass.
- The Personnels must comply with IT guidelines, including operating system and system application compliance procedures. They are also responsible for provisioning lab host machines such as Dell desktops and Supermicro servers — to ensure the qualification infrastructure is ready.
Skills:
- Bachelor degree from Electrical/Electronics/Computer science preferred with 1-2 years of experience in Reliability/Memory design/system engineering
- Experience in Nand or product reliability and testing is a plus
- Have a good understanding of computer hardware and familiarity with different operating systems.
- Good at creating Test Plan, providing the Execution Timelines.
- Understanding the Test Scenarios / Cases and Executing them.
- Ability to provide the tests execution results / status on daily basis.
- Good knowledge on Defect Tracking Tool.
- Completing test executions and creating Test Reports.
- Ability to extend the working hours to meet the project deadlines (on need basis).
- Understanding on the protocol specification (SD, SD Express, USB, SCSI, PCIe, NVMe, eMMC or UFS) and associated tools such as (PCAP, Lecroy analyzer) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge on Storage devices
Education:
