Duties
The AppNotes Developer is responsible for creating high-quality technical documentation—specifically Application Notes—that explain NAND technology features. This role requires close collaboration with engineering and product teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and usable documentation for engineers and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Documentation Development
- Develop comprehensive Application Notes, technical briefs, and solution guides.
- Translate complex engineering concepts into easy-to-understand documents for customers.
- Create step-by-step procedures, block diagrams, timing diagrams, test results, and reference designs.
- Ensure content accuracy, clarity, and adherence to internal documentation standards.
- Collaboration with Engineering & Product Teams
- Work with design, validation, and System teams to gather technical details.
- Understand product specifications, design flows, and use cases.
- Participate in technical discussions and design reviews to ensure documentation correctness.
- Customer-Focused Content Creation
- Build AppNotes that address real customer problems, design challenges, and use-case scenarios.
- Incorporate feedback from customer support teams.
- Provide documentation that accelerates customer adoption and reduces support cycles.
- Run test cases, design flows, or scripts to validate the procedures documented.
- Capture logs, waveforms, screenshots, performance data, and results.
- Documentation Quality & Lifecycle Management
- Experience with documentation and productivity tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio) and Adobe tools (Acrobat, FrameMaker).
- Maintain version-controlled documentation (Confluence, SharePoint & internal documentation systems).
- Update AppNotes with new features, errata, or design flow changes.
- Follow the company's review and publishing process for technical documentation.
Key Metrics for Success
- Accuracy and clarity of Application Notes.
- Reduction in support queries due to high-quality documentation.
- Adoption rate and usage metrics of published AppNotes.
- Timely delivery aligned with product releases.
Skills
Technical Skills
- Good understanding of semiconductor technologies, VLSI design flows(as relevant).
- Familiarity with tools is not must but preferable:
- EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor) – if in semiconductor domain.
- Simulation, verification, synthesis, or layout tools.
- Ability to interpret datasheets, specifications, schematics, RTL, logs, and waveform data.
- Strong technical writing and information-architecture skills.
Soft Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to explain complex topics clearly and logically.
- Detail-oriented; strong editorial skills.
- Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Education
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- Prior experience in:
- Technical writing / documentation engineering
- Experience with MS office, Confluence and documentation tools.
Years of exp is 2 to 3 years.
