Job Description

Job Description: Engineering Lead / Project Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a Tech Project Manager to lead structured delivery across complex, multi-team initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who is PM-driven, highly organised, and able to bring rigour and clarity into ambiguous environments.

The role requires someone who can navigate stakeholders independently, drive structured execution across cross-functional teams, and relentlessly follow up to ensure progress. Prior experience with vendor coordination and work within financial services, risk, and compliance domains is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project & Delivery Management (Primary Focus)
  • Drive end-to-end project planning, execution, and delivery across engineering, product, data, compliance, and operations teams.
  • Establish and maintain structured delivery plans, sprint plans, WBS, RAID logs, decision registers, and program reporting.
  • Build quarterly and annual roadmaps for technology and capability development.
  • Bring rigour, discipline, and predictability to execution; manage risks, dependencies, scope, and timelines.
  • Run governance routines: status reviews, steering updates, stakeholder cadences, and cross-team alignment forums.
  • Demonstrate a persistent, action-driven approach — follow up relentlessly, close loops, and ensure accountability.
  1. Documentation & Clarity-Building
  • Produce and maintain high-quality documentation including BRDs, FRDs, process maps, workflows, project plans, and decision records.
  • Translate fragmented or ambiguous input into clear, structured artefacts that drive alignment.
  • Ensure teams operate with a documentation-first and audit-ready mindset.
  1. Stakeholder Management
  • Engage independently with senior technology, business, operations, risk, procurement, and vendor stakeholders.
  • Ensure clear expectations, alignment, and transparency across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Navigate organisational ambiguity, conflicting priorities, and fragmented processes with confidence and ownership.
  1. Business Analysis & Process Definition
  • Lead requirements gathering and process mapping for workflows, tracking mechanisms, and case-management-related capabilities.
  • Simplify complex or unclear requirements into structured workflows and actionable specifications.
  • Support translation of regulatory/business requirements into clear deliverables for engineering teams.
  1. Vendor & Procurement Management
  • Coordinate vendor engagement, onboarding, delivery milestones, and commercial/procurement alignment.
  • Ensure vendors meet expectations regarding timelines, documentation, quality, and operational readiness.
  • Provide structured oversight and escalate issues where needed.
  1. Cross-Functional Delivery in Ambiguous Environments
  • Manage setup, configuration, governance, and integration of SaaS platforms supporting workflow and case management needs.
  • Operate effectively in environments with unclear ownership, evolving processes, or organisational gaps.
  • Bring order to ambiguity using documentation, structured communication, and disciplined follow-through.
  • Identify blockers early and proactively drive resolutions across teams.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 7–12 years of experience in Project Management, Business Analysis, or Program Delivery roles.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-team projects with strong rigour and documentation discipline.
  • Strong skills in documentation, communication, requirements definition, process mapping, and governance.
  • Ability to work persistently and assertively — pushing teams, tracking actions, and driving closure.
  • Experience coordinating with procurement, PMO, and vendor teams.
  • Familiarity with case-management concepts (Pega, Appian, SNOW, Salesforce FSC) is helpful but not mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of cloud, data, or engineering concepts (coordination level, not deep architecture).
  • Agile delivery experience; certifications (PMP, Agile, PRINCE2, SAFe) are an advantage.
